Celebrate the wild side of Wisconsin’s waters and landscapes with Warren Nelson and the Blue Canvas Orchestra. Big Top Chautauqua, based in a 900-seat tent theater near Bayfield, Wisconsin, produces original musical theater highlighting the natural beauty and cultural history of Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest. The original Chautauqua movement of the late 19th century molded theater, music and public affairs into a form of traveling infotainment popular in the towns that were too small for vaudeville to bother with. Teddy Roosevelt called Chautauquas “the most American thing about America.” This show features stories and songs of our state’s great natural resources, from its rivers to the Great Lakes, from the wetlands to the forests.
