According to the American Cancer Society there were 27,560 new cases of cancer and over 11,000 cancer deaths in Wisconsin in 2009. Wisconsin Story Project spent the year conducting interviews in Dane county with some of the people who know what it means to be part of those statistics. From these interviews, using the true stories, experiences, and the words they heard, they wrote the play Cancer Stories, an examination of what it means to ill, what it means to survive and what it means to be human.
