Running time: 45 minutes

It's a BIG, action-packed day for Kids in the Rotunda!  We have teamed up with First Stage children's theater and the Wisconsin Book Festival for a book-filled, activity-tastic day in the Rotunda!

Join First Stage's Education Team for a 45-minute story drama workshop based on Lois Ehlert's children's book Mole's Hill.  We will journey with Mole as she discovers, with the help of her friends, that there is more to life than looking only at what's right in front of you.  Sometimes you need to look up and dream big!  Young people and their families will be guided through dramatic activities that encourage self-expression, concentration and cooperation, as we imagine, interact and reflect upon the story of Mole's Hill.

Be sure to stop by the Wisconsin Book Festival's book seller to pick up your own copy of Lois Ehlert's books. Want to give the books a try without breaking the budget?  The Madison Public Library will have remote book check out available at Overture!  You can even sign up for a library card!  All activities will be open between 9 AM and 2 PM.

As if that were not enough, Kids in the Rotunda hosts a FREE collaging activity for kids!  Make your own animal picture using collaging techniques like Lois Ehlert’s.  This free activity will be held for kids from 9 AM-2 PM in the first floor Rotunda Lobby at Overture Center for the Arts.  Supplies will be provided.

Each Saturday from the end of September through April at 9:30 AM, 11 AM and 1 PM, Overture Center presents Kids in the Rotunda, a series of FREE artistic programs designed for children and families. This popular performing arts series on the Rotunda Stage offers a relaxed, kid-friendly environment in which to enjoy a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians, storytellers, jugglers, theater troupes, magicians and dancers. The 1 PM performances are sign language interpreted.

Kids in the Rotunda is generously sponsored by MG&E Foundation, Family Programming at Overture is sponsored by American Girl Fund for Children. Additional funding provided by the Kuehn Family Foundation and contributions to Overture Center for the Arts.
