Identity of Place is an exhibition of prints by Tyanna Buie and Driscoll Hixson illustrating multi-layered memories of the past–from verdant land embedded with folklore to fields interwoven with urban dreams. The contrast of the artworks within this exhibition provides a narrative of two distinct story lines–the spiritual awakening of land through broad minimal forms and the complex presentation of dreams cast upon cityscape silhouettes.
Driscoll Hixson is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Tyanna Buie is an MFA candidate at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
