MadCity Sessions: Corey Hart

From the time Corey Hart started singing at a young age, his vocal range and unique styling has amazed audiences. With a voice that draws comparisons to Jeff Buckley and Ray LaMontagne, Hart won Madison, WI, Songwriter of the Year in 2007, and has shared the stage with Dawes, The Duhks, Shaw Mullins, and Langhorne Slim. Writes Fast Atmosphere, "Corey Hart plays the music you wish you’d grown up to – an eclectic blend of folk, rock, and a little bit of soul. This Wisconsinite’s earthy sound will tantalize your eardrums while his stage presence will captivate your eyes.” And, because he shares his name with the Canadian artist who recorded the hit “Sunglasses at Night” and also with the Milwaukee Brewers’ star outfielder, Hart keeps “getting kicked off MySpace because of the confusion."

The featured community organization at this concert will be UW-Madison Continuing Studies' Art Classes. Their art programs are for adults of all ages and ability levels. Art classes, workshops, exhibitions, and online learning courses encourange and enhance artistic creativity, expression, skill, and appreciation.
