2013 marks Natty Nation’s 18th anniversary of keeping the positive messages of their unique, indigenous Wisconsin reggae beats throbbing through the heartland. Winners of the 2013 MAMA Award for Best World Performer, JAH Boogie and his backing band's tight but fluid, rootsy but funky, beautiful but gritty, righteous but real vibration is clear to anyone listening to their music. It's almost impossible not to dance at their live performances, and every Natty Nation concert is a different experience. Their energy is infectious, their dubtastic jams are complex, and their message is simple: spread the positive vibration!
Spotlight On Our Community: The Bubbler
Along with a new Central Library, a new director, and a new logo, Madison Public Library has developed a new maker-focused programming model for all ages: The Bubbler. Whether offering the basics of animation, screen printing, music, clothing design, dance, or painting (to name a few), the Bubbler’s hands-on pop-up workshops will introduce participants to a variety of local experts who will share their talents and physical resources. The Bubbler's deep list of partners will keep the experience current and dynamic, offering a wide range of lectures, demonstrations, performances, and make-and-take workshops.
MadCity Sessions is generously sponsored by WISC-TV. Additional funding provided by the Arts Access Fund, a component fund of the Madison Community Foundation, and by contributions to Overture Center for the Arts.
