Wisconsin Public Radio, The 9XM Players and the Overture Center for the Arts are proud to present It Happened One Night a live radio and stage performance of the classic romantic comedy. Travel back through time and experience the golden age of radio when millions of Americans tuned in to comedy, drama, variety and adventure every night. This performance will be broadcast live, statewide, on Wisconsin Public Radio.
When a rebellious young socialite and a cynical reporter are drawn together by circumstances, will their dueling egos prevail or love? Frank Capra's 1934 film adaptation won all five major academy awards. It Happened One Night will be introduced by WPR host Norman Gilliland and be directed by Michele Good, founder of Laboratory Theatre with period music by WPR's Artists-in-Residence, The Kat Trio.
Please join us for this tribute to romantic comedies. Special guests include the Four Seasons Theatre, who will kick off the evening with musical selections from their Great American Songbook Series. No late seating will be allowed.
