Forward Theater Company
Forward Theater Company was formed around a kitchen table in 2009 by a group of determined and passionate local theater artists. Our mission is to provide an artistic home for Wisconsin theater professionals that will expand the economic and cultural life of the greater Madison area.
The company’s first three seasons of performances, presented in the Overture Center, included a classic radio drama, staged readings, a festival of new work, a world premiere, and two Midwest premieres, fresh from their sold-out runs in New York.
After this auspicious start, Forward Theater Company is launching its fourth season with three full productions in the Overture Center, and another monologue festival of new work. We are looking forward to a wonderful year as we expand our reach into the community, attract ever-increasing audiences, and present artistically challenging plays that uplift, educate, entertain, and inspire.
